Four of my poems, ‘it starts with a ‘D’ doesn’t it’, ‘the memory thief’, ‘the photograph album’ and ‘my mother’s hands’ weave through this anthology of dementia journeys. These poems were written as dementia claimed my Mum’s mind. My attempt, in recording Mum’s dementia journey, was partly to cling to who Mum was, but in doing so, to show what we had lost.
